A Meal with Murakami!
Plan to unwind after work dining in the Museum of Fine Arts' Bravo Restaurant and taking a tour of the frenetic and fun Murakami exhibit.
Join us for an evening of food, art, and fun - all generously funded by the Alumni Association Grant Program.
While we've taken quite a few trips to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, we plan to do things a little differently this time. We will start the evening with cocktails in the museum's mezzanine. Then, we decamp to Bravo Restaurant for dinner. Our hosts will then take us to the Murakami exhibit for a docent-led tour. At the end of the evening, you will have an hour or two to explore the galleries on your own (don't miss the newly acquired Dutch and Flemish art from the van Otterloo Collection - a major coup for the museum!). Our schedule is as follows:
6:30 - 7:00 PM: Welcome Reception with Open Bar & Appetizers
7:00 - 8:00 PM: Dinner
8:00 - 9:00 PM: Docent-led Tour, Murakami Exhibit
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Self-guided Tour
PLEASE NOTE: Please meet in the lobby of the Huntington Avenue entrance. Pricing reflects a generous grant from the Alumni Association; full price tickets would be $135 per person for this evening.
Exhibition Information: Mining Japanese art history, Otaku subculture, French couture, worldwide pop, and the global economics of the art market, Takashi Murakami has created a signature oeuvre that has transformed museums, art fairs, MTV, and the selfies of millions of fans. Examine the serious art historical and political roots of Murakami’s career in the context of the exuberant pleasure and serious fun of his far-reaching practice.
